Job Description Job Description Create, commission, and optimize production controls Nammo Energetics (NEI)—a Nammo Group division— is building a new solid rocket motor manufacturing facility next to Nammo Perry Inc. in Perry, Florida, with initial production targeted for 2027. From our downtown Perry office, this on-site role partners with design, process, quality, and maintenance to deliver compliant, reliable, and efficient controls for munitions production and testing. Early tenure includes travel to Raufoss, Norway (first 12–18 months). Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance is required (U.S. Citizenship required). What you'll build PLC/HMI/VFD architectures and code for new and existing equipment. Electrical panel designs, component specifications, and safety-compliant hazardous location wiring. Complete panel and schematic documentation in AutoCAD Electrical 2024. Commissioning plans for transitioning new assets into the rocket motor facility. Arc?flash hazard analyses and mitigation recommendations. Control logic improvements that raise safety, quality, throughput, and cost-effectiveness. Preventive maintenance strategies and documentation for maintenance teams. Key responsibilities Lead equipment selection and purchasing for the new facility. Ensure installations and maintenance conform to current codes and regulations. Serve as the primary controls troubleshooting contact. Recommend and implement upgrades for legacy and new equipment. Collaborate closely with maintenance and operations on PM, repairs, predictive maintenance, performance, and design improvements. Champion positive employee relations and uphold our Affirmative Action Plan, labor laws, and EEOC rules and regulations. Follow company policies, EHS standards, and strong housekeeping practices. Required knowledge BS in Engineering (Controls/Electrical preferred) or a mix of education and 5 years’ relevant experience. 3 years in manufacturing supporting semi-automated and manual processes. Siemens S7?1500 with PC-based WinCC Advanced Runtime; SIMATIC Step 7 Professional TIA Portal V20; Step 7 Safety Advanced V20; Sinamics Startdrive Advanced V20; WinCC Advanced V20; WinCC Runtime Advanced V20, or similar Siemens ecosystems. Emerson PAC Machine Edition v10 and Proficy Machine Edition v9 familiarity. Controls/electrical design fundamentals across vision, power, sensors, inspection, and communications. AutoCAD Electrical 2014 proficiency; ability to generate documentation in AutoCAD Electrical 2024. Cognex vision camera familiarity. MS Office proficiency. PLC/HMI coding and debugging; electrical/pneumatic schematic creation and troubleshooting. VFD, servo actuator, and robot programming/troubleshooting. Mechanical drawing literacy; ability to manage multiple projects. SPC familiarity in industrial settings; PSM plan familiarity or equivalent. Clear, concise written and verbal communication; self-starter mindset. Schedule, travel, and site On-site in downtown Perry, FL. Travel to Raufoss, Norway in the first 12–18 months. Work outside standard hours (nights/weekends) as needed. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (Requires U.S. Citizenship).
