Job Description Mammography Technologist opportunity in the beautiful South Florida area! This position is located in the Miami Dade County area. Full time permanent opportunity with competitive compensation and benefits package. Relocation Assistance Eligible for Qualified Technologists Sign on Bonus for experienced Mammography candidates Position Status: Full-Time Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (Occasional Saturdays Required) The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. Department/Center Highlights: Patient-Focused Team Cohesive and Friendly Environment Supportive and Encouraging Atmosphere Here is what you will need: Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography; ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible; Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT; High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred; Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location; Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred; Two years of experience in mammography is preferred; Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred; Prior quality control experience preferred; Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology; Ability to stand for long periods of time A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist: Provide services and support for the following areas: Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate. Effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health. Maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills. Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees. Consistently practice excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique. Complete appropriate documentation. Perform quality control functions related to mammography. Assist in the compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
