Provides a full range of human -resources functions and provides assistance to facilitate timely and accurate submission of HRrelated -programs to ensure all procedures are met and in compliance with University standards.

  • Serves as the point of contact for information regarding student employee, volunteers, interns, temporary employee actions, and any general HR inquiries, and ensures that all pre-employment requirements are met, such as the completion of I-9 paperwork and collection of supporting documents.
  • Works with DHR Employee Records for the efficient processing of new hire paperwork and Panther ID provisioning process.
  • Manages and maintains fee for service log and weekly payment of fee for service contracts.
  • Maintains confidentiality for the department. Treats with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity any matter pertaining to academic and indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department.
  • Performs audits to ensure Panthersoft and internal system data integrity. Maintains current information in the staff directory and internal organizational charts. Conducts other assigned audits as assigned.
  • Manages back-office personnel activities including preparing Electronic Personnel Requisition Forms (ePRFs) and Electronic Personnel Action Forms (ePAFs) for various appointments. Maintains and follows up on personnel action forms. Reviews for accuracy and completeness prior to routing to the appropriate approver(s).
  • Assists departmental leadership with special projects and human resource initiatives, benchmarks other higher education institutions, and organizations and compiles data for review. Supports the planning and logistics of key HR events
  • Serves as a backup to the Assistant Director of HR.
  • Coordinates and schedules events, meetings and/or trainings, requested and maintains outlook calendar.
  • Communicate processes and changes to hiring managers. Correspond with Talent Acquisition Management regarding the processing of new hires and rehires. Coordinate with supervisors and payroll department on hires requiring retroactive payments as required.
  • Resolves complex issues and act on behalf of the Assistant Director of HR when appropriate.
  • Manages the renewal process of temporary employees so that employees will be in the HR system on a timely basis.
  • Reviews, understands and abides by all department procedures.
  • Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of HR Specialist. Report any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
  • Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree and two years of administrative experience to include Human Resources experience.Advertised Salary:
